Meet Your Practitioner

Hi, I’m Zara Renée!

Born and raised on the East Coast of Florida, Zara began traveling for work as a Surgical Technologist almost 15 years ago. Along her journeys (both professional and personal), she discovered the healing power of mind-body movement and breath work. Intrigued by this seeming juxtaposition with modern medicine, she went back to school. Shifting her academic pursuits to biopsychology and the neurophysiological foundation of somatic healing, Zara graduated with her BA in Psychology in 2020. Her Senior Thesis examined the effectiveness of yoga as a protective factor against PTSD in active duty service members.

It was while completing her Bachelors that she attended her first yoga teacher training in Okinawa, Japan. As an RYT-200, she began teaching regularly for active duty Marines. Eager to learn and do more in the field of somatic healing, she went on to earn her advanced 500-hour RYT certificate with a concentration in trauma-informed modalities. She is additionally certified through Warriors at Ease and Prison Yoga Project, and completed both Yin Yoga and Trauma-Informed Care training with Michelle Wegner, founder of The Slow Life Experience.

Zara Renée completed her Masters of Public Health with a focus on Ethics from UMass Amherst in 2026; her Capstone explored the ways in which implicit bias of healthcare providers is developed and perpetuated by stigmatising language in patient charts. Proposed mitigation efforts include trauma-informed content parameters as well as facility-required training on Structural Competency.

Energy Work & Medical Doula Services

Rooted in research on polyvagal theory and conscious application of the placebo effect, the techniques and applications utilised in each Energy Healing session are scientifically sound and replicable. Trained in the Japanese style of energy healing, Zara Renee expands upon traditional Reiki teachings, incorporating meditation, mindfulness and breath work. This is the foundation of her work as a Medical Doula, providing medical and surgical support.

Intuitive Tarot

Zara Renée began studying Tarot in 2021 while living in Okinawa, Japan. In her traditional fashion, Zara approached the cards with an academic lens, first learning the anatomy of the keys and then, the physiology. Built upon a foundation of multi-religious and cross-cultural archetypes, the Pamela Coleman Smith deck was her textbook. Intuition developed over years of practice and readings now incorporate psychic connection and spontaneous mediumship.

Professional Ethos

Zara is neither a mental health nor physical health provider. She does not engage in or condone acting outside one’s scope of practice. While healing comes in many forms, acute needs should be met by a trusted and licensed mental or physical health provider- not someone on TikTok or Instagram. The metaphysical world is rife with appropriation, colonisation and misrepresentation. As a consumer, you have every right (and are encouraged) to interview providers prior to engaging in services; walk away if what you hear doesn’t feel aligned with your needs, expectations and/or values.
